Music – Then and Now:

 Many centuries ago, the music in India originated as a form of ritual. The music was the greatness of devotion to be served to the god and goddess. The evolution of the music and entertainment happened many years later with the influence of the other culture and etiquettes and Indian music is said to have evolved from the mixture of these. Initially the music that was well in use during the time of Aryans are called folks songs. These songs are composed by the people, neighbors, workers in the field who for certain situations made songs and alongside composed the music and tune for the same. The folk songs are very popular in the ancient time and it has made its mark in the present generation too. 

  The origin of the Old Indian songs are said to be from Vedas, however its genre is still unknown. If you keenly observe, each songs composed signifies the situation, way of life, culture, mental state of the people. As the generation evolved, the taste of music also changed gradually. Earlier people where interested in melodious songs that had essence of the situations, however with the new style and genre making its way into Indian music, the likes of the people have totally changed making ways to more western cultures. 

  Few years back, the old Indian songs were played directly through the musical instrument, where the singers complemented with the vocals. If we want to listen to music, then we would have to directly meet the musicians and singers and watch the live gig, which usually takes place under the banyan trees or in any open shady ground. However, there were no microphones or loudspeaker, the voice of the vocalists has to be of maximum decibel. Later, the recording technology came into light, where the songs and music could be recorder and played back in a gramophone. The people slowly started adapting to listening to music through gramophones, which later was publicized using the radio technologies. The songs were made to reach every house by using radio communicator. 

  The popularity of the radio and gramophone, gave birth to the portable audio tape recorder. The music and songs could be recorded in a miniatures cassettes which could be then played back using a tape recorder. The trend of the recorder and player existed for a very long time, the people had totally adopted this particular source of music and was in trend everywhere. Movies and music industries started releasing cassettes which started earning revenue. Then came the evolution of cassettes to Compact discs and Digital Video Display, the displays just dint carry the audio, but it also introduced the concept of video recording, much more advanced than the Video Cassette recorders. The entertainment and the music industry reached an advanced level when these involvements came in as a music source. 

  At present you can see a lot of improvement, like the old and new songs Hd video recordings, Blu-ray, DivX and many others giving us a better clarity sounds and video. However, people don’t have to spend much on buying the recorder, rather they can get on to an online website and live-stream or download it for free with the variety of music websites available.
